Baby Gorilla Born at National Zoo

A western lowland gorilla named Mandara gave birth to her sixth baby in the Great Ape House on January 10. The zoo isn’t sure if the tiny gorilla is a boy or a girl yet, because Mom’s keeping the baby all to herself for now.

Western lowland gorillas are listed as a critically endangered species, so these births are especially important. There have been seven successful  western lowland gorilla births at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. since 1991.

I think that any animals birth, endangerd or not, should be celebrated because life is a presious thing that should be treated carfully and when an animal becomes endangerd it is esecialy important for the poaching leavle on that speches cesaes and the birth rate to increse.

I think that gorillas are awesome and that is so cool that people are helping endangered animals because they are GODS CREATION.

I think that is wonderful how the mother gave birth. I hope that this baby gorilla will do the same if he/she is a girl or will find a a girl that will do the same. It is very important that the endangered animals are reproducing a lot so that they won’t become endangered.
