Best Harry Potter Book?

Wait!
Is it even possible to choose a favorite?? Probably not, but it should be fun to read everyone’s rationale for their choices. So, let’s try!

Post your opinion in the comments below. Which Harry Potter book is your all-time favorite and why? Maybe it’s the very first, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. My favorite Harry Potter book is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is my favorite because it is where two of my favorite HP characters are introduced, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.

aw it’s been ages since ive read these! ok two years but i read a lot of books. i can’t remember a lot of the details… but my fave is “order of the phoenix”… or maybe whichever one has the giant chess game. sorcerer’s stone, right? could someone tell me what the first book is, so i can read them again?

My favorite book is the third one. It seems to be the most favorite of the series but I like it because of the adventure, the part when Lupin turns into a werewolf, and above all, ALL THE AMAZING HARRY POTTER CHRACTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read one through four in first grade and nothing since then, so I don’t really remember them very well but I’m going to have to say that the Harry Potter and the goblet of fire has to be my favorite. Maybe I should read them all again!

i discovered this site today and i love it very much i think i love all the HP books they were the 1st books that i have read and they are they reason why i practiced reading because i have dyslexia so i really am not at all fond of reading now i read anything and everything that catches my attention my favorite book in the HP series is the 3rd one because a lot of James’ and his friends’ adventure were shared and it was just so amazing…although i pity Snape a lot hehehe please reply to this comment thank you

#6 is the best! i think the character development and development of relationships is more than commendable, and it also has a good sense of adventure like #’s 4 and 5, and mystery like #’s 2 and 3. its also a great surprise wen dumbledore dies and its fascinating to find out so much about lord voldermort and his weaknesses.

personally, I loved the second or third book. (the chamber of secrets and the prisoner of azkaban) But the 7th book was AWESOME too. The worst book for me was the half blood prince because its soo depressing! I can’t wait for the 6th movie though!

I love Harry Potter, and are a few chapters from finishing all of them, but I like the sixth because Harry finally goes out with Ginny, but i cried in that one. I also love the seventh one, because it’s just really good, and Ron and Hermione go out, and I think they are the cutest couple on earth. I can’t wait for Harry Potter six to come out!!!!!!

I like all the books, but would really like to see the last movies. When I read a book, usually I compare it to the movie (if it has one). City of Ember book and the movie were an example, because they were very different from each other. So I really don’t know, but I like Sirius the best. I even have a little black toy dog I named Sirius.

I’ve read the whole series, and I have to say the Half Blood Prince, or the 6th book. I think it’s cool how Harry and Dumbledore go into Voldemort’s past, and look for the Horcruxes. This book links really well with the Deathly Hallows.

i just started to reread them. the last book is my least favorite, *spoiler alert* BECAUSE EVERYONE DIES! i mean, not everyone, but snape, lupin, tonks, and a bunch of other people die. do one of the weasley twins die? cant remember if he died or just got hit in the head really hard…also, Mathonwy, you have an awesome name. isn’t mathonwy like an ancient welsh wizard? well, he is in the charlie bone series by jenny nimmo WHICH IS A REALLY GOOD SERIES! i am done ranting now.

I like the 6th book the best because it really explains the 7th book better and loads of things happen. Weasley Wizard Wheezes is pretty cool too. The 6th book was the fastest one for me to read because it really grabbed my attention. I’m really glad there was a 6th book, and now I can’t wait for the 6th movie. The 5th and 7th book are really good, but the 6th , I feel, really over powered me. I would recommend the all the books by J.K. Rowling. READ THE 6TH BOOK, or start at least with the 1st.

I am on Hp and The Deathly Hallows, book 7, and so far it is the most action-packed. I love it so far (even though it’s the creepiest book EVER) but I loved book 1 (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) because it taught you all about the Wizarding World. Diagon Alley, Hermione and the Weasleys, oh, and Hagrid busting in with a cake!!!!!!

My favorite is definitely THE SORCERER’S STONE.It has fantasy, mystery, danger, and humor. My favorite character is Hermione. And if you haven’t seen the movies, you pronounce her name her-MY-oh-knee (I made that mistake!). Did you know that the sorcerer’s stone used to be called the philosopher’s stone?

I’m reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Anyway, I gotta say my fave so far is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. My fave part is the duel Dumbledore vs. Voldemort. I’m not exactly sure who the Half-Blood Prince is. My Grandma told me it is not Malfoy. I think maybe Snape. Don’t tell me! I always suspect Voldemort. My Grandma says I’ll be surprised. Dumbledore? i think that J.k. Rowling is the best author in the world!!harry potter is very exciting!!i am reading the sixth book. there were no more left at the library, because the sixth movie just came out!! i love harry potter series because there is not a single part without excitement or drama.the part when hagrid brakes into the motel. harry potter finds out that he is a wizard!!i started loving the harry potter series in the middle of second grade. i am in third grade in two weeks.my favorite book so far is the fourth. my favorite task is the second. i am so glad that harry saved Gabreel, then Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacours wedding!!!!!!!!!!

I finally finished them all. I loved them. The Half – Blood prince got me ready for Deathly Hallows. But, once I fnished Deathly Hallows it got me SOOOOOO ready for the movie Deathly Hallows and made me sad that there were no more HP books, even though it was a great ending and The sixth movie rocked because the people in the movies are awesome actors…!?

I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan, and me and my friends are all crazy about reading. I love ‘em all, read ‘em all (twice), and the Deathly Hallows was so awesome, and I also liked in the third book when Harry reunited with Sirius. That was so sweet!! Me and my friends believe we’re magic, except that the Hogwarts school’s acceptance letter hasn’t arrived yet for us. Maybe Ron’s owl took it somewhere else by mistake… Ha ha.

the seventh one definitely ties it all together but i personally liked the fifth one best. the first book j.k. Rowling was just developing her characters… she talked a lot more about peeves and portraid dumbledore as a loon…

Wolfgirl,I was 15 when the book came out.It took me about 18 hours to read the book.The day it was released I bought it and i read it non-stop until i finished.It was about half 4 in the morning when i got to sleep.

To all Harry Potter Fans- Apperantly J.K Rowling read some of Diana Wynne Jones books before she wrote Harry Potter. I borrowed one and on the back it says: “Mad about Harry? Try Diana.” – U.S News & World Report.

J.K Rowling will come out with a 8th book. she plans to return voldermort in book 8 and kill him off in book 9.
This is my thought, but sence harry potter was a part of a horcruex then doumbledore had the number of horcruxes wrong, i belive sence the sorting hat is from gryffindor than it also is a horcruex.

harrys parents cant be dead. Voldemort stated he could bring them back in book 1 and in book 7 when harry wore the ring that showed death, harrys parents wasnt there. theres no spell to raise the dead but that cant mean something else could.

the killing spell acted different on dumbledore than anyone else, and if you dont mean the spell then it cant work, so dumbledore cant be dead, however he must fake his death so the unbreakable bow cant kill snape. that phonix can heal…rember that.

last sirus body was never found. no wand. no dark mark. no killing spell. sirus was traped in the thing harry herd voices from in book 5.
i do hope j.k. rowling puts this all in book 8 and 9.

The best book by far is the order of the phoenix because its the start to explain harry and voldermorts connection. Harry begins to learn Occlemency from Snape who actually enjoys teaching him you find out in the last book. The book is the longest but by far the best one but sadly the movie sucked.

I love ALL of the Harry Potter books! But I would have to say that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows is the best. I really like the mystery in The Champer of Secrets. And the beginning of The Philosopher Stone (the sorcerers stone in the U.S, and think in England too.). The Half-Blood Prince was REALLY good!! I saw it in the theaters the day it came out. And man, there was a line up! And now I can’t wait for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows to come out in the theaters November 2010! But I was basically heart broken when Fred died:( The Weasley Twins were me favorite. They were so funny:)

the 7th book is the best because there’s always something unexpected in each chapter and I love that hogwarts students (except slytherin) fight for Harry. And I love how harry shows that he’s still alive. I love every chapter of the deathly hallows!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite Harry Potter book is the 7th, The Deathly Hollows. I like it the most because it is very different from the rest. The funniest part of this book is when Harry kisses Ginny and Ron and Hermoine burst into the room. It is fun to read about Harry when he is not at Hogwarts. One of the good parts about this book is the Epilogue. I like it because you can find out their children’s names and you can find out who married who. You need to read the rest of the books in the series before you read this one.

Well, I just HAD to comment-Harry Potter is my absolute FAVORITE SERIES IN THE WHOLE WORLD, so I must say the first one really hits the spot. It is the least scary of the 7 books and is so funny almost every chapter and every little morsel of the book. But the 4th one is almost tied! If you go to Google and type in ‘what they think about you harry potter quiz’, most of the time you get your house, and what they think of you. Sometimes, you even get what blood type you are.
I am a half-blood Gryffindor. My dad, who’s a wizard, met my mum, and they had me. My mum didn’t care that he was a wizard because she loved him too much. XD. I met Harry Potter and his friends, and I’m their best friend. (But maybe not of Hermione and Ginny, because Harry and Ron have trouble. But otherwise they think I’m okay.) My guy is George Weasley, and I’m actually pretty good with coming up with pranks. XD.

I read the books up to 4th book in the summer. Then school started again and I forgot. I think that i should keep on reading the 4th book and read the whole series. I think that Harry’s owl dies, but i don’t know why. Please don’t tell me because I want it to be a mystery. I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the last book Deathly Hallows the best because the last few chapters are so high paced and in the chapter The Forest Again i could feel the pace slow down and the tension rising. This is a defiantly a must read. But it is also a really sad book because a lot of people die, but it is the perfect book to end the amazing series that is Harry Potter.

I read this book because it was worth a ton of A.R. (accelerated reader) points. First I was like this book looks so lame. But then I read it and was like this book was AWESOME!!! This was is my favorite of all the Harry Potter books. Now my brother and I are hooked. (He didn’t read them and probably never will. He doesn’t like reading.) I think the Deathly Hallows or Goblet of Fire best. I mean why wouldn’t the last book, the one that wraps it all up, not be the best? Both books are so intriging, heartbreaking, adventurous and just amazing. I finished the seventh book at 9:47 pm a couple weeks ago and just laid in my bed, my heart pounding think about the last to sentences, especially the last, Harry’s scar had not pained in 19 years. All was well.

Number five isn’t my favorite but I did enjoy it. I love the part in the movie when they show the over-head shot during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, and you see all the aurors fighting death eaters, in my opinion it is a very cool scene. Buy why does Sirius have to DIE?? I mean seriously he was Harry’s only nice family member, male mentor, and other stuff, left!!

I like the book, Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, those are awesome books.

Actually, the longest book is “Order of the Phoenix” or # 5. It has between 860- 870 pages! So whoever read that book and finished it, good job! Also, who went to see the final movie at midnight, I know I did!! Anyone who says boo to Harry Potter, have you picked up a book? Or at least read the back or inside of one or learned about the plot? Do it. Try.

I LOVED all the books but the best one was the Deathy Hallows!!!!! But the best movie was the first one.[I havn't seen the second part of the deathly Hallows yet so I'm not sure]

Ok, this is really, really hard! I really, really like ALL of them, but if I had to choose ONE, I think Goblet of Fire. I like Deathly Hallows too.
If you have NOT read any of them, OMG, READ THEM!
You will love them. Best books in the galaxy.

Gosh, what a hard choice! Uh. . . think I gotta go with The Order of the Phoenix, cause it is extremely exciting and well-told. But it is really sad when Sirius dies.
