Nellie

Hi, this is Nellie!

Today, my dad and I went for a walk around our hotel. I saw this boy and I probably went a little goggle-eyed. Isn’t he adorable? He was holding hands with his father, and I just HAD to take a picture. He looked quite confused actually. He has such cute, little, chubby cheeks!

Lima is really interesting. They have public restrooms in the middle of the sidewalk…

This evening, we went to visit a Magical Water Circuit. (Seriously, that’s what it’s called.) Everyone got really wet because there was a fountain that you could get in the middle of but there were little jets of water that squirted up at you. I think Dewey was the wettest! He was dodging fountains and got hit in the head once by one that took him by surprise. There also was a fountain that you could walk under. At the end of the “fountain tour” there was an amazing fountain where people projected different pictures and words on a “screen” of water.

What an adorable little boy! It sounds like the day in Lima was interesting. It is fun to read the blogs, and to see Peru through the eyes of National Geographic KIDS Explorers. I look forward to more postings and more photos!

Oh my goodness he is sooooo cute! I would have totally gone goggle-eyed!
How long was your flight. I read in other blogs that their’s were like 8 hours. I don’t think I could sit that long.
Have fun at Machu Picchu. Take lots of pictures please.

    Hi everyone!

That’s sooo cool how they let you take a picture of a kid! If I were that kid I would have been a little confused too! Well how was Machu Picchu today? Was it absolutely gorgeous?

    Well bye!

Nellie, it sounds like you are having a great time!! Peru sounds very different from rural Kansas, so take in all of the sights and sounds and smells and blog away….I am learning a lot.

Theo and I miss you and Dad, but it helps to read about all of the interesting sights you and the other NG explorers are seeing. Theo made it to finals in Creed speaking, and will call tonight with results.

I enjoyed your photo very much. I hope Machu Picchu was all that you hoped, and that you (and Dad) took lots of good photos. Much love, Mom

Nellie-this is Dewey’s Mom-your photo was wonderful! It sounds like you are having a great time! The Fountain was probably very different from anything I have ever seen! Glad to hear that Dewey got the wettest-it’s good for him! Look forward to seeing more photos! Enjoy!

Great picture Nellie! It sounds like you are having a great time. I hope you get to go to Machu Picchu today. What was the strike all about? Did anyone besides Cady get sick from the altitude yesterday? Give Cady a hug, I miss her!

Hi Nellie! This is Pete’s mom.

Hey, I had a cute, chubby faced little boy like that precious child once! Now he’s on a trip with you and his dad! You captured that baby faced child perfectly, esp with his dad’s hand in the photo! I love this picture!

    Enjoy the rainforest!
