BOOK NAME: The Wizard of Oz
AUTHOR: L. Frank Baum

The Wizard of Oz is about a little girl who lives in the grasslands of Kansas. She lives with her aunt and uncle.  One day a cyclone comes and twists her house up in the air.  Dorothy lands in the middle of a world that is unknown to her. In the land she meets the Good witch of oz who tells her how to get back. Dorothy is told the she needs to go find the Wizard of Oz. On her journey she encounters many friends and enemies.

I LOVED this book!!!  When I first got it I thought that it would be boring but it is the exact opposite.  There are so many adventures all in one story so you’ll never get bored. The book is MUCH better than the movie because the movie takes out most of the fun things. A few things that aren’t in the movie are the scene in which the characters visit a dainty China Town where everybody there is made from china!  HOW COOL IS THAT!!! You have to read this book.
This book is for readers who like fantasy and adventure (or scarecrows!).  Don’t miss out on the movie once you are done with reading book. Which do you like to do first, read the book or watch the movie?

next year for halloween we’ll probably dress up as characters from the wizard of oz. i’ll be glinda the good witch, my sister would be dorothy, my dog will be toto, my cousin (this is sad that i’m saying this but my mom agrees with me) will be the cowardly ion, and my other cousin it could work out with either the tin man or the scarecrow. i’m the smart one in my family B).

I haven’t read the book yet, but I’ve seen the movie and was a munchkin in the play last year. The book seems kinda bad compared to the movie. Wow. I’ve never said that before.

P.S. nezza, it’s Harry Potter and that was kinda random (even though that is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo true. I love Harry Potter)

I followed the yellow brick road to finish it! I read the REAL copy and I love how it sounds like it’s real while movie says, “Did Dorothy go to the Wizard of Oz? Or was it a dream?” The book says it’s real, so that’s why I like it.

I’ve read a version of this book. I’m not sure that it’s the same though. Actully, I might have two coppies. I read the chapter book with my mom when I was four years old. I don’t rememeber it quite well, but I know that it was really good. I get a lot of the memories back from the movie. It’s also one of my mos favorites.

I just want to correct some previous posts. There are 40 official Oz titles. 14 written by Frank Baum, 19 by Ruth Thompson and a few others.

The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite books of all time. i have a copy myslf, and have read all 40 books as well as seen the movie. If you have read the first diary of a wimpy kid,you may have read the chapter in which gregory played a tree who throws apples in his school play. the trees are a part of the book, but it is after the wizard has flown away, and Dorothy and her friends are on their way to meet Glinda, the good witch of the south.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the Wizard of Oz. L.Frank Baum wrote 12 sequels to the Wizard of Oz. You should read them. Also,if you really, really, really, like it, see Wicked the Musical. It tells the story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda. They were BFFS in college in the musical. I wouldn’t suggest reading Wicked the book. It has some adult stuff.

if you like this then you should go see the play Wicked! Wicked is an amazing play about the witches when they were growing up. There is also a book about it called Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West but the play is waaaaay better.

LUV BOOK, luv movie, ADORE THE MUSICAL,WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i’ve seen wicked 2 times, and seen the movie too many times 2 count! read book only 2wice,though. wicked is about glinda and elphaba, aka the wicked witch of the west. it is kind of elphaba’s side of the story, that explained why she was so keen on getting the ruby slippers. in the musical, she doesn’t really want power, she wants the slippers so she can remember her sister. it’s touching musical, and i luved it sooooooooo much, i saw it again!
