BOOK NAME: Scat
AUTHOR: Carl Hiaason

This story is about Nick and Marta who go to school in Florida. Their teacher Mrs. Starch is a mean and weird teacher who you don’t want to mess around with. After the disappearance of Mrs. Starch on their field trip to Black Vine Swamp things start to get spooky. First this kid named Smoke has a bad reputation with Mrs. Starch so they think he has something to do with her disappearance. Second, Nick and Marta go take a look around her house and another intruder drags them to his car and brings them back home. And lastly, a panther has been spotted at Black Vine Swamp.

This is one of the many books written by Carl Hiaason. He seems to like writing stories in Florida. I liked the book but half the time I was reading I was scared and had to turn on my closet lights or go under my covers. You will enjoy reading this because it has a lot of surprises. The point of view keeps on changing so you will have to keep up.

This book’s genres are mystery and fiction. If you like this book then you can read some of his others like Hoot (which is also a movie), and Flushed.

i haven’t read this book. we had a book fair and i didn’t buy it! it seemed “not my type.” glad to hear you got it and enjoyed it!

this books cover looks kinda boring. though after reading your discription, i changed my mind.
sounds like another great scholastic read. i have around four of their books and they are all pretty good and interesting story’s. some of these include: boys are dogs, tentacles, distant waves a novel of the titanic, and fairest. i specificly remember getting fairest for it’s discount price and interesting discription. i have always been picky about the books i read. if they aren’t interesting enough, i won’t do good on any comprehaension check! well, until next time!lol!!

when i went to church today, i discovered they still where having the book fair. my parents had picked out books while i wasn’t there. i told them to consider getting this book, but they didn’t get it. they said there was so many other interesting books, they couln’t get ALL of them! instead, i have to share the ones they got and i got the following: seekers(book 1), a book on a young hitler youth, and a cookbook.

i was happy with the books i got and didn’t dare ask for more. anyonef that knows us knows we don’t usually get to but anything. the main reason for this is, when your running close on money, you can’t get everything you want.

my grandmother bought me most of the books i own. my dad is a;ways working, and can’t get us everything. when it came to the halloween pary at our school, we missed it because we where “costumeless!” my family believes just like christmas is god’s birthday, halloween is the devils.

gotta go and watch the movie we rented called “earth.”

i have never read this book, but my best friend has and she lovveeeddd it.she wonders why there is a cat on the front of the book when there is not even a cat in the story. or so i am told. my friend who read it recomends this book to people.

OK, you all need to read this book. Carl Hiaasen is the best author (next to J.K. Rowling) and Hoot and Flush are his other books. I loved this book and hope you guys will too.

I thought Hoot was great.Though my friends loved it just because saying the word hoot over and over again sounded funny(they r SO weird sometimes)Hoot was gd becuz it kinda uses Mulletfinger’s and the other two charactor’s(sry i cannot remember name!)love for animals but indirectly its the story of Mulletfingers.Using the owls indirectly was way cool of the author.i think i may check this out.sounds as great as hoot:)

I love Scat! It is one of my favorite books! It is written sooo well. Another one by that author I love is Flush. I have heard of Hoot another. It is a Disney movie I think now too!

I think it is a really good book. To me, it wasn’t as good as Hoot. But it is good enough to NOT hate!!!!! Someone else said the actor who played the main character in Hoot was the same as the one in Percy Jackson.

I read this book it was actually quite good I’ve read Scat, Flush and Hoot they were all good books by Carl Hiaasan, he’s a pretty good writer very funny I recomend this book its very funny.
