Did you know that over one billion people suffer hunger in the world each day? That is about one-sixth of the population of the planet. The World Food Programme, part of the United Nations, helps feed people around the world and has created online resources to help kids learn about hunger and ways to help. The WFP blog for students and teachers called, Teaching Hunger, is a great way to learn more about how hunger affects people around the world. Another WFP blog, On the Road, features videos highlighting hunger issues. Check out the links below to visit the World Food Programme blogs on their website.

Hunger isn’t the only problem in the world. Malaria is still a problem in Africa. Read more on National Geographic Kids.

Yes, we Americans are very blessed when it comes to food. Though there are even some American families that are in poverty, unfortunately. We need to continue doing everything we can in order to help others that need it whether it is food, shelter, or etc. Prayer is also very powerful.

Even if you do not participate in the Operation Christmas Child Program, please pray for its success! Every prayer is highly appreciated. Thank you!

Yes emshemie3, I think that if all people did their part there would be a world without poverty. That is what God wants us to do, help the widows, the poor, the hungry, the orphans, the needy and the fatherless.

I agree that if every person did their part, the would be no such thing as word hunger and so poor people that they cannot manage to feed their children.
