I got a book for Christmas called Isle of Swords. All high-adventure fans must read it! When you think of pirate books you may think ‘Oh,that’s a boy book.” Well, it’s not! A treasure beyond imagining, a notorious pirate, a daring girl, a marooned boy with amnesia. Tune in for thrills and chills in Wayne Thomas Batson’s Isle of Swords. (I am totally going to get the sequel Isle of Fire!)

I didn’t get this book for Christmas (I got it from the library) but it is AWESOME!!! It is called Ordinary Boy: The Hero Revealed. It is about a boy that seemingly has no power in a city called Superopolis, you can probably guess the all of the people have super powers by the name of the city.

There are two other books in the series that I know of
book 2: The Return of Meteor Boy?
book 3: ( this is the one I just finished reading!) The Great Powers Outage

Oh has anyone heard of the Betsy-Tacy books? They’re about two families (who then become three as you will discover if you read them)that from the age of five have girls that are best friends. The Ray family, Betsy’s family and the Kelly family, Tacy’s family. Then there is Tib Muller,an only child that for two periods in Betsy-Tacy history. They start from the book called ‘Betsy-Tacy’ (you would have never guessed) and goes until Betsy’s Wedding! It is awsome for people who want to discover the past!
P.S. Can anyone report ‘Ivanhoe’???? lol

I got Boys are Dogs and Thirteenth Child. Both are good. I got Scat from the library. Love it so far!!!
But my favorites by far. I got the boxed set for my birthday. Here are a few clues. Post your answer and I will tell you who is right on January 30th, 2010.
Ralph Fiennes plays the bad guy. Helena Bonham Carter is a bad person too but not as bad as Ralph’s character.
So I’ll post the answer the 30th or 1st between 3:00 and 4:00. If I post on the 1st it will be more like 5:30- 6:00.

SelenasFan, you can get Isle of Swords (and the sequel Isle of Fire) through Christian Books catalog or website. Isle of Fire isn’t as good as Isle of Swords but it’s still worth the read!

  35. Sacagawea
    March 30, 2010, 2:08 pm

I didn’t get this for Christmas or my birth-day, but the book “Path to the Pacific: The Story of Sacagawea” is soooooo totaly AWESOME!!!!! I reccomend it for anyone who loves adventure or history (Or, well, both!)!!! It tells about Sacagawea not only when she was with Lewis and Clark but when she was captured, practically sold to Charbonou,(Is that how you spell it?) and when she was with Lewis & Clark. It tells you what her real name was, how she lived with Charbonou, how she felt lonely in a world where no one spoke her language, and more. It also doesn’t ramble about Lewis and Clark like another book I read. Great read, & and highly reccomended. :)
