Haiti Devastated by Earthquake

On January 12, Haiti was struck by a magnitude 7 earthquake, causing widespread devastation. The earthquake’s epicenter was about 10 miles from Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city. The International Red Cross estimates that a third of Haiti’s citizens will need emergency aid.

The quake destroyed houses, schools, hospitals, and even the National Palace in Port-au-Prince. The city is currently without electricity or phone service.

    I agree with all of you to go help. The sad thing is is that it was my grandpa’s birthday. The weird thing is that this news is spreading all over the U.S.A!

    We wanted to do something to help the people of Haiti. We are getting our school to help us help Haiti. We, the Dream Team are making hygiene kits made up of soap, hand towel, toothbrushes, nail clippers, bandages, wash cloth, and a wide tooth comb. The kits will be in a gallon zip lock plastic bag. Anna is drawing an architectural design for the new capitol building.

    I am donating money to help Haiti.If every family who can donates $20 and gives one package of water to Haiti, that would really help a ton. If you are planning on donating or have already done so, I thank you all VERY much. At my school we have been doing charity projects all year, but now for Haiti we have had conversations in every class and are helping more than we normally do. But just because there is a major problem that needs help, that dosen’t mean that there isn’t always something that needs help, like Los Niños, a school were the kids only get 2 small meals a day and they are so poor they don’t go to school some days because it is there brothers turn to were the family’s only pair of shoes. So help, donate, and be happy. It is so nice for people to care about more than themselves, and please do. think about how these people feel. Even though they are poor, they are people too.

    i feel awful about what happened. i hope every one including me can help as much as possible! Also my school is having a fund for haiti, we are also collecting water bottles to give to haiti and we have been having serious discussions about helping out. And i hope everyone can get there schools to help. once again i hope everyone donates or does something to help the people of haiti. That is a lot of damage, the best way of help you can give is lots of prayer-thanks for reading I hope you agree with me!

    Haiti is a poor place and most of the people there are homeless starving sick and asking themselves where is help?Some families have babies and they get sick and have a possibility of death.Their mothers pray and pray people donate and some donate to late.We should help haidi not let them suffer and have no help or donations.I feel so good when I donate to people in need.But I am so upset when I see so many in need donation boxes because there are so many people that really need help and I just hate that.We should care about the poor and make them smile for the very first time.If you agree with this comment,comment a :) and also comment with the :) I care for the poor.

    This is so dissapointing’that this happened because they are already poor and an earthquake came and made it worst for them.I am so happy that many of us are donating food and money and clothes.It makes us feel like a good person.It is very inportant to stand up for other and standing with others.I am so proud of all of you guys that helped or donated.We shouldn’t just help them just because they had an earthquake cause they also need help even if they didn’t have an earthquake because they are a poor country.This may be long and so has my other comment but ITS just want to tell you guys most of the thing I think about this and the needy.I hope you guys understand what Iam trying to tell you.     London 2012 it happened because sometimes earthquakes just pop up and sometimes they are strong and sometimes they are medium.

    Well I know I am commenting to late but I am just saying what I felt in 2010 when it happened.Because I just held in what I had to say.Plus you know how late I am commenting realllllly late.You know what year I am commenting now 2013 and the two others 2012. Late I know.
