Red Panda Born at the National Zoo

The National Zoo’s female red panda Shama gave birth to her first cub on June 16! This is the first red panda born at the Zoo in15 years. Red pandas are an endangered species–there are only about 2,500 red pandas left in the wild. But if you visit the Zoo, you may be able to see Shama and her little one from the upper viewing platform on the Asia Trail.

    Red Pandas are my favourite animals as they are sooooo cute and the picture proves my point.:D

    The red panda is so cute! I wish I could go to the zoo but I can’t since I live in Australia which is on the other side of the world to the zoo! I hope I can help because it seems quite scary knowing that there are only 2,500 pandas left in the wild. Us humans are probably cutting down there habitat and I find that really bad. I hope they aren’t endangered for much longer!

    So CUTE!!! I hope the Red Panda isn’t going to be endangered muh longer, there so cute! I wonder what they will name the baby
