The map Turtle found turns out to be the real deal–she and the Diaper Gang find real treasure! But there’s one problem… the boat drifts away, and the kids are stuck out on a key with no way off. Then a hurricane strikes the islands! After the storm, they gets rescued, and Turtle’s Mama comes to Key West. It seems like Turtle will get her happy ending, but it doesn’t turn out quite the way she expected.
During the storms, there are rats in the shack with the Diaper Gang trying to keep away from the water. Are you afraid of rats? Do you know anyone who keeps a rat as a pet?
Why do you think Archie left? Do you think he really cared about Turtle?
Do you think Slow Poke will be part of Turtle’s life in the future? How do you think he got his nickname?
Have you read any other books about the Great Depression?

And now, for August’s book. We’re having trouble making up our minds what to read. We think something funny and summery would do the trick.
