Welcome to the book club meeting!

This week we finished reading The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick. Thanks so much to everyone who joined us for this book, as well as the others this year. This will be the last meeting of the Book of the Month club.

If you have finished the book, click “See More” to go to the book club meeting.

If you haven’t gotten that far yet, stop here!

School is coming to an end, and with it comes Emma’s birthday. The Mother-Daughter Book Club celebrates together, and all the girls (and their moms!) get tickets to visit New York with Jess’s mother!

On the big trip, each of the girls gets a wish granted–Emma gets assistant writer credit on HeartBeats, Megan is going to be profiled in a new fashion magazine for teens, and Cassidy catches a foul ball at the Red Sox/Yankees game (and the Red Sox sign the ball, too)! Only Jess seems to go away empty-handed. Her mother is staying in New York.

In August, the club gets together at Orchard House (Louisa May Alcott’s home) for a special picnic. Jess gets a very special surprise, which is a result of the New York trip. The book ends on a very happy note!

Which character was your favorite and why? How about your least favorite?

All of the girls got things that were important to them out of their trip to New York. Which “gift” would be the one you would like to receive?

Do you feel inspired to read Little Women now that we have finished this book?
