BOOK NAME: Num8ers
AUTHOR:
Rachel Ward

After her mother’s death, Jem started to notice numbers in the eyes of
people surrounding her daily. As an infant she vocalized every number
she saw until it bothered those around her. Later on in life Jem
figured out the numbers were the dates of when people were going to die.

A long-term curse in her life, the numbers haunt Jem’s every
move–making her avoid any kind of relationship with people in her life.
When she meets Spider, another outsider, she takes a chance, dreaming
of a happy ending with this boy. Very little time passes before the
date in his eyes shows itself to Jem. Witnessing Spider’s death
herself, Jem is broken and her hopes of a new beginning fade away with
the beats of his heart.

I absolutely loved this book and there was only one downside; the book
had a tremendous amount of content that would be inappropriate for
younger readers. Although some concepts in this book were hard to
understand, it had an amazing plot and was unlike any other book I’ve
read. As disturbing as it seems, I truly enjoyed when the author
unfolded the deaths of those around Jem. Her following the characters
around her, only to find that the numbers in their eyes are correct and
death waits for them around the next corner.

Rachel Ward wrote this book with lovely detail and the plot unfolded
perfectly –introducing new characters and obstacles smoothly. I plan
to read more of her books and I suggest you read this book if you are of
the appropriate age.

Why in the world would the publishers allow you to publish such an inappropriate book?!? I am Certain I am too young by many a year to read such a novel, and I am but 11 years of age! I do not know how old you are, but I am positive it is too inappropriate for anyone under 18!!! How ghoulish of you to read and write about such a thing on a children’s website!

Probably +13, but reader discretion advised. You may want to have your parents read this first, though.

For Everyone Who Is Not Sure If They Should Read This Book.

I think everyone differs on what age are certain books appropriate, but you should have parents involved in that process. This book is very mature so be very careful about how far you get into to these types of books.

I am 13, but have no interest reading this book ever. Whether you like a book or not, what you read changes you. Your mind is the best thing you have so you should be careful about what you put in it.

I advise everyone to think very carefully before reading this book, and having your parents involved with decision.

Haha! I’m sorry I haven’t gotten to your questions, guys.

Otay, when I wrote this review, I guess I didn’t include some information that you guys are seeking so…
the ages… mature teens and adults, it has some parts in it that are hard to understand and one specific chapter I suggest you skip because of inappropriate content. I am 14 and had no problem with any of it other than the mild language and that chapter I mentioned previously.

I only posted about it for one reason. If I read a book that isn’t appropriate – I think I should share with you so you don’t go to a book store, pick it up, assume it’s fine to read, and then read it. I want you guys to know about it before you read it so you can see it and say to yourself – I shouldn’t read this, I read a review on it. I just want to help you guys out.

This sounds like a good book. Its seems to be very morbid. And what would the appropriate age for this book?

It sounds interesting, but I’m not so sure about the inapproriate stuff. I’ll prob’ly wait till I’m a lot older to read this. jindo2108, to answer your question about Swiss Family Robinson, I read part of it and I hated it. I thought the dad was totally playing favorites. He’d be like, “Okay, Fritz, since you’re the oldest, and therefore the smartest, you’ll come with me and have all these fun adventures, while your stupid brothers will stay with your mother and cook.” Or something to that effect.

Nice book! I just read it and thought it was great! Though Rachel sometimes has trouble switching where they are, like first they were talking about the party, then they were there, making it a bit confusing. I have to say there were some inapproriate words and actions, and I had trouble still picturing her boyfriend to be black. This book was suspenceful, like when her boyfriend falls off the roof, or when they’re getting chased by cops. She keeps anticapating his death and you don’t know when it is until he dies. Unless your 14 or older, I would wait to read this book.

This book is not for everyone. I have to say though that it is a very good book and if you arent comfortable with questionable language and situations, then i suggest you not read it. There is a sequal to this book though. I havent read it yet, but I think its going to be really good considering the child that is born at the end of the first book starts seeing the numbers and the sequal is about him. So yea. :D
