Matched

BOOK NAME: Matched
AUTHOR: Ally Condie

In the Society, the Officials decide. Everything. Cassia has always trusted their choices, decisions, and motives. From when you’re born to when you die, the Society decides. Everything in everyone’s lives are controlled by the white-dressed Officials. When Cassia gets Matched with her best friend, Xander, for life, she is certain it’s the wisest choice for the Officials to have made in her life. Until she sees the face of Ky on her Matching screen for a brief moment before it goes black. Cassia’s certainty in Xander weakens and her curiosity for making her own choices in life such as who she loves overcomes her. Decisions don’t have to be made, but it’s Cassia’s choice whether or not to make them, herself.

Matched was recommended for the fans of Twilight and The Hunger Games, but I beg to differ. Matched had no inappropriate content and sent out a message on the wisdom in making decisions, having hope, and loving someone truly. With a romantic curve ball to the story of the Society in which Cassia lives in, the book contains girly content I honestly loved. This book is recommended for ages 12 and up, containing some harder to understand content that would most likely satisfy the older age group. This is one of the few books I’ll remember when I look back on my good reads and I hope Matched is as enjoyable for you as it was for me!

I have been looking for this book for quite a while, but afraid that the author would throw in some questionable content. This has set my mind at rest!! I can now enjoy this book with being afraid that the next page would be “inappropriate.”

I’m sorry but I just can’t read this book.
I tried to read love story-ish books like this but utterly failed.
I hated when Irish guys are smiling for that same reason.

    ~I hate romance books,

PurpleDragonWarrior, I am sorry that you do not like romances. Then what kind of books do you like?

For Everyone: I have heard through rumors that this book has a cliff-hanger ending, and I was slightly nervous. I hate cliff-hangers, but know I have information that this book is the first in a trilogy! I am definitely putting this book on hold at the library!

I really liked this prediction about what will happen in the future, and I totally agree with Emilie about how this is NOT inappropriate at all. I love this book!

This looks OK…….but I don’t know if I’ll read it, cause (still!) I avoid stuff that sounds like it’s kinda creepy. Plus, PurpleDragonWarrior, I agree. I’m not huge yet on romance:)

I agree with PDW…I don’t like romance in books.

Of course, I like The Hunger Games, so that may be an oxymoron. But I like it for the adventure, not the romance.

I will definitely check this book out!

Yeah. romance isn’t all that bad if you’re not a boy. (no offense if you are a girl PDW) but, i am serious about the “not all bad” part. Seriously.
