Incarceron

BOOK NAME: Incarceron
AUTHOR:
Catherine Fisher

Incarceron is alive. A prison unlike any other. It’s prisoners live not in cells, but in metal forests and ramshackle cities. Since the beginning of time, it’s been closed. Nobody coming in and nobody escaping. All except one man, Sapphique. Legend says he was the only escapee. With that inspiration in mind, Finn, a young prisoner of Incarceron claims to escape. To return to where he believes is his home. The Outside.

After finding a crystal key, Finn meets Claudia. A charming, but stubborn girl who is said to live Outside. With the evil Warden of Incarceron as her father, Claudia is able to help Finn escape, but will most certainly need his help in exchange, being in the midst of an arranged marriage with a horrifying prince.

A winner. Again, another book that will be remembered always. The characters are written so detailed, I have this elaborate picture in my mind of what each person looks like. The environment and the character’s feelings are very obvious and you start to ‘feel’ for each and every one of them! I found myself literally on the edge of my seat when I read some parts!

After reading The Maze Runner I got hooked on steampunk books. So I immediately fell in love with Incarceron when my mother bought it and took it home. After just a few chapters, I assure you the suspension and mystery will keep you reading and you’ll be hooked as well.

Want another opinion? Read Mairen’s review of Incarceron.

    Looks awesome!

    Metal forests and ramshackle cities?
Kinda reminds me of that part in the Spiderwick Chronicles with the metal dwarfs Simon and Jared encountered who made a mechanical everything.

Also (not to offend you) I’ve noticed that almost all of the books you review are about romance (Ex: When Irish Guys Are Smiling and Matched)

Please tell me this isn’t like that

Also you said “After reading The Maze Runner I got hooked on steampunk books.”

Does that mean this is a book in a series or published by the same company or something?

    Little Confused,

PDW (Feel free to call me that! I don’t mind :) )

I have a question. Do you have any other steampunk books I should read? Because I just got Incarceron, The Maze Runners, and the Scorch Trials from the library, and I was wondering if there was some more that were really good. Thanks! :)

PurpleDragonWarrior, the definition of “steampunk” is the genre of book that are in the future, but only using steam-power. It is like the futur if electricity was never discovered. There are many new and interesting inventions, just a little more creative.

Crocks04, Have you ever read “Fever Crumb” there are a lot of steam-punk books by this author, and I have heard that they are really good.

Escape2books, I never would have guessed that’s what steampunk books are!
    Anyway…
My brother read this, and he kinda agreed with Mairen, it’s really confusing. So I dunno, cause I’m a reader that is always missing things, so I’m not sure….
    I don’t know!
I haven’t read Maze Runner either, but that reminds me I was gonna check it out.
    Anyway.

Also Maze Runner is an amazing book. It is probably up there on my list of top 10 with Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and Ender’s Game. To be honest this book was a bit freaky, and I liked the second book better. Its still great, but it could be a bit better. I would recommend this book to ages 12 and up…

I too love this book, and The Maze Runner I one of my favorite books. If you haven’t read Leviathan than you really should, It’s the steam-punkiest steam punk novel I have ever read.
