Today we arrived in Bangkok, which is the capitol of Thailand. It was a big contrast, because it is a cosmopolitan modern city compared to Myanmar which is a third world country. I was so happy to swim in our pool because it was extremely hot. The first day there we did school in the really nice business center, listened to Beatles music in the lounge and ate some delicious Thai food!
The next day we got up and went to one of the world’s largest markets, where there were thousands of venders selling everything you could imagine. When we came back from the market we went for a boat ride on the Chao Praya, a muddy and busy river that runs along the center of Bangkok. Then we went back to our hotel and listened to the Kim (the Thai version of a harp).
For our last day in Bangkok we took a tour around town in a tuk tuk, a funny little motor scooter with the yellow cabin that you sit in. The engine makes a tuk…tuk…tuk sound.
We went to a gem factory where I learned that my birthstone is an opal and to a huge shopping mall where we got to see a futuristic car made by BMW. It looked like a rocket.
I loved Bangkok!
