Hi Everyone!

Luckstomper here. I haven’t been on in a while. Even though I can’t enter anymore, I still like to keep up with everything that goes on, like cowgirlexplorer. I enjoy seeing all the new entrants because it reminds me of when this blog was my life. Every day for a while I would come on and just write away. Hahaha. And I’m sure if some of the bloggers that I conversed with saw this they’d smile and say the same.

As I looked at the blog post prior to this one, I noticed a bunch of people saying reasons for why they should be the winners. But in the end remember it’s going to be genuinity that wins it for the 15. Your essay had to come from the heart and the picture had to be a nice sum up of it. I can wait until the announce the winners! Good luck to all!

Dear National Geographic, 2/23/12

Can one of the contest be building something to help clean up the ocean, because if it is I have an Idea. Also, I love nature and animals but some kids in my class made fun of the manatees in a show we were watching. Can you help?

cowgirlexplorer and Luckstomper, I’m very sorry. I think they should of extended the age limit again this year. It was nice to extend it last year and give the 14 year olds a chance, but the rest of us still lost that year and we didn’t get to make it up. Please everybody, stay blogging. Last year leading up to the trip, reading all of your comments was the highlight of my day. I really hope Nat Geo will extend the age limit again for the sake of all us who lost that year and me, because I think I can win next year IF I get a chance to enter. Later everyone!

Hello Everyone! I agree with Luckstomper, i remeber when i used to check this blog every day, but i still like to check it every once in a while and see all the new people who comment here. I cant wait til they announce the winners. I am considering writing a letter to the people who are in charge of organizing the HOEC contest, and see if it is at all possible for the team this year to take a detour to my part of Montana. I was thinking it would be cool because alot of the kids that would be going on this expedition probably dont get a chance to pet a cow or bottle feed a baby lamb, or ride horses or anything like that, so i think it would be cool.
Any opinions?

Cowgirlexplorer, that would be a great idea. I think Nat Geo should do it, but they probably already have the whole trip planned out.

I know I coulld win. And I will win next year. I think I’ll go crazy if I don’t. Exploring is my life. I spend so much time every day dreaming of being on a HOEC team. In the meantime I think i’ll try out for that Hawaii thing. It’s not as good but at least I can go explore nature- my parents won’t take me anywhere to explore nature and I live in a suburb surrounded by big cities. My dream is to be a NG Explorer. I really feel bad for those who tried to win this year after year and now it’s to late. The 2013 trip is my last chance. I don’t know what i’ll do if I lose again. I never have been able to go to any big nature spots because of where I live. I make the most of the small trails near my house but they aren’t enough. Cowgirlexplorer and Luckstomper: Don’t quit this blog. They might raise the age to 15. I check this blog every day just like you did. You guys definetly encourage the rest of us.

This is my first year trying out for this contest and I dont think I will even get to become a winner. I unfortunately don’t subscribe to NG Kids but I still love it. I think they should really get the winners to GO TO Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, or somewhere in B.C. because I live there and I think you guys should really come to Canada…I can’t wait to find out where the next destination is, even though they haven’t announced the winners yet.

Ecochika: yes, i ride horses, and i love it! I just came home from school actually and went out and rode my horse Lucy. It has been so sunny and beautiful here lately.

I was one of the five people who was a finalist but didn’t win… I’m not too sad about it. if i’d won, another would have had the painful experience of loosing…
