The Day Joanie Frankenhauser Became a Boy

BOOK NAME: The Day Joanie Frankenhauser Became a Boy
AUTHOR: Francess Lantz

joanie.jpgThis book is all about being yourself.  Joanie is a huge tomboy and moves to a new school.  The secretary at the new school typed her name as "John" instead of "Joanie".  So, she decides to roll with it, and live as boy at school and a girl at home because as she sees it boys have it easy.  As she goes along she realizes that boys don't have as easy of a life as she thought they did.

Back at her old school Joanie had a writing assignment and she wrote a super kid story.  She liked it so much that she writes a series of stories about her Super Kid.  She tries to keep them a secret, but the class bully named Zane gets a hold of them.  He uses the ideas from the stories to make up his own League of Super Dudes.  But when the Super Dude's pranks go too far, Joanie has to decide whether to reveal her secret or to keep pretending to be a boy.  Check out the book to see how she handles it.

I really liked this book because it has adventure and the story has things that I could relate to.  It's really about finding happiness with who you are and not judging people by what you think they are, but by their actions.

That it one of my fave books! Thanks for writing about it!

my names hannah too
cool book and cover

I think this book looks really cool because I'm a tomboy ,too . And I wonder what it would be like to be a boy. I might read it!

Holy guacamole! I have been waiting FOREVER for a book like this! I try to be a tomboy but then the 8 boys in my class are really, y'know, durr... except for 2, but there's a girl in my class who teases girls who are friends with boys. I also have a friend a year younger than me who is best friends with a boy and her classmates spread (very false) rumors about them. Like spock9, sometimes I wonder what being a boy would be like.

I don't know about being a boy musemagfan13 and spock9, think about the smelly boy-ness, and what not. I am friends with plenty of boys so no effense aganst them I just like being a girl, a pretty girl. But now that I think about it that would be fun!

I'm a tomboy to. this could be a really good book but I might be able to figure out the ending because I have had some simaliar experences.

I was trying to find a good couple of books for summer reading, and I found this. The review was great by the way. It sounds good and I'm going to look for it in the library. If any of you know other good books for summer reading, then someone please tell me!

I can NOT wait to read this book! Not only was the review great, the plot of the story sounded great too. Thanks for spotting it!

You know, it does seem that boys have it easy. My friend is a tomboy and she treats the world as if nothing ever happened.

I might get this for my cousin she is a HUGE tomboy!

Good review. It sounds like a good book. I would have to read the book to find out how how Joanie does it because I do not think I could pull that off .

The book series listed in my username are my favorite book series ever!!!

This book looks awesome! I'll have to read it!

That book sounds interesting.
