BOOK NAME: Ida B....and Her Plans to Maximize Fun, Avoid Disaster and (possibly) Save the World

This is an awesome book! I really liked it because it was about a girl in 4th grade, just like me. Ida B. lives on a farm that has an orchard and she has a feeling that she can talk to nature and understand it.
It is only her second year in public school, even though she is in 4th grade. She went to kindergarten in public school, but was home schooled in grades 1, 2 and 3. She's not very happy about going back to a public school. She felt like her heart had turned into a black stone with pointy edges on it. She had to go back to public school because her mom got sick and couldn't teach her anymore. Her family also had to sell some of the orchard to pay for the doctors to help her mom.
A girl from her class moved into the house that was part of the orchard that they sold. Ida B. is not happy about the people moving in next door because they cut down part of the orchard. Ida B. thought of the trees in the orchard as her friends. So, she does a lot of stuff to try to scare them from building or moving in next door. She did things like make signs with scary pictures, put rubber snakes and bugs in their yard and other stuff to scare them away. But, much to Ida B.'s surprise, the new family thought it was a big joke and weren't scared away at all.
This book was really good because Ida B. is pretty tricky and a lot of fun and the book describes her adventures. You'll have to read it to see if she keeps her friends in the orchard.

i love this book. when i was in 4th grade, we had a book club with the librarian at my school. we read this book. i liked it. it was a reader's choice book.

IdaB is one of the best books my teacher has ever read to my class in 4th grade. I LOVE the part when she follows in the hallway Clare to say sorry. I love the ism her author wrote about her doing her trick. LOL!!!

Fablehavenfan, the movie is alright. Not as good as the book though.:( It never is. Have you read the whole series? The last book is my favorite.
Oh I'm about to go crazy because all I hear about is Twilight. But Ida B is great! But do you want an example of a movie not as good as the book? Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix. That is so weak.
Hey, I'm reading this book right now! It's way too easy for me, though, because I'm two years older than Ida B. But I read a lot of challenging books, so it's nice to take a break from that!
I love Ida B. I read it in second grade. I agree with citrusgirl, I saw Order of the Phoenix in 3D, the book is sooo much better!!
This book is loads of fun to read, utter brilliance. I think this was possibly one of my favorite realistic fiction reads ina good long while.

first of all,u people are supposed to be writing about Ida B, NOT Twilight. (I totally agree w/citrusgirl on the twilight issue) i read Ida B and thought it was awesome. now I have it and is one of the greatest additions to my ever-growing library.
Has anyone ever read twilight. someone should blog about that it is an awesome book. I rather write about twilight insted of ida b because Ida b was a horrible book in my opinion. TWILIGHT IS AWESOME!
