BOOK NAME: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw

This is the third of four books that I know of about Greg Heffley, The Wimpy Kid. I've read all but one of the books and I like them all. Even though each book has "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" in the title, Greg makes it clear at the start of each one that the book is NOT a diary, but a journal. He explains that diaries are for writing down your feelings and others might think he's a sissy if they see him carrying around a diary. So his books are journals, which just tell about what happens in his life.
In the beginning of this book, Greg is always accidentally making his dad mad by doing things like watching TV rather than going outside to play and making noises at night that wake up his dad. In the book, Greg admits to having a crush on a classmate named Holly Hills so he tries to make her have a crush on him by doing goofy things, like telling jokes. It doesn't work. Greg then meets a girl named Trista and he ends up falling in love with her. He plans to bring her to his friend Rowley's pool for a date, but he runs out of paper in his journal before he tells what happens.
I like the Wimpy Kid books because they are funny and they give me ideas for pranks and jokes to do with my friends, my dad, my mom and my brothers. If Greg were real, I'd like to play with him.

I keep a journal (or a diary) I think this book is under my reading level but I read it just for laughs it was funny

i have read diary of a a wimpy kid the last straw 4 times i cant stop reading it it's way to good to. my favorite part was when he sat in the chocolate and had to go to church with his mom's pink sweater on in front heather and once he tried to get her attention so he called ploopy and had to go home.
(p.s. i recommend this book) : )
i think i want to read that because it sounds interesting to have a life like him.
My favorite part of the book was when greg had to wear the sweater into the church in front of holly. when greg was walking down the hall at his school an a pair of under wear fall out of his pant leg an the said over the speaker.
i love this book. it is so funny. anyone who has not read this laugh out loud kind of book has to read it. :)

The pics are so funny and Jeff makes them worthwhile. All my friends thought it was so stupid they have no sense of humor though. Anyway the book as great and i own all three of the books catch you later!
I recently read this book. It's way under my level but I thought it was kind of funny. But books like The Swiss Family Robinson or Harry Potter are more like good literature.

I have read all the books in the series! the books are super funny!
I have only read one of the the diary of a wimpy kids books, rodrick rools. I realy liked it and I might read this one two. My brother has one of the books but its not a reading one its a do it yourself books it is not quite like the others but it is realy cool to.
I also thought it was a great book. But the thing is ask468, it is better to read the books in order so if you read Rodrick rules, then you should read the next book and wrk your way up to the last straw
thats just my opinion.

the book is really good, but I reread today in under fifteen minutes. reading is fun. I wrote an essay on how reading is fun, I said reading was the funnest thing to do, but I had to change it to reading is the most fun thing to do because funnest isn't actually a word
EVERYBODY loves it! I never herd of it before . . . (is the guy on the cover almost naked?)
I have not heard of anyone who does NOT love this book and this series! Some of the people who never laugh at my school cracked up when they read this book! I would recommend this to read and not recommend it to take for real and as a guide for middle school.

I read somewhere in the series a part where he ( Greg) said, " My dad read me the Shel Silverstein books every night before i went to bed and at the end he would show me the picture and i wouldn't get up even to go to the bathroom!"! Me and my sister ROFL-d!

i loved the last straw because rodrick locked greg out of the hotelroom in his underpants.greg had to stay up all night so that his dad could get him back in his room.

Greg makes me laugh forever and ever when I see the really funny parts in the books! I am only on Rodrick Rules, but I was going to see what you dogeared book bloggers think about continuing to read the series. What I think is the funniest is when he makes his point that the book is not a diary, and that he isn't going to write his feelings in it. But eventually, as you progress through the book and keep flipping pages madly, you see more and more feeling in his writing. First it's his problems with his dad, and then what do you know, he's talking about his crushes! Anyways, you guys seem to like these books so I'll take your opinions as a reference and keep on reading Greg's diaries. I am sort of relieved you all like this book, because even though the books are sort of easy-reads, I still wanted to read them. GREG HEFFLEY"S DIARIES ARE THE BEST! Rock on, readers!
I love this book and I especialy like the drawings that he does.
