The Wizard of Oz

BOOK NAME: The Wizard of Oz
AUTHOR: L. Frank Baum

Wizard of Oz book coverThe Wizard of Oz is about a little girl who lives in the grasslands of Kansas. She lives with her aunt and uncle.  One day a cyclone comes and twists her house up in the air.  Dorothy lands in the middle of a world that is unknown to her. In the land she meets the Good witch of oz who tells her how to get back. Dorothy is told the she needs to go find the Wizard of Oz. On her journey she encounters many friends and enemies.

I LOVED this book!!!  When I first got it I thought that it would be boring but it is the exact opposite.  There are so many adventures all in one story so you'll never get bored. The book is MUCH better than the movie because the movie takes out most of the fun things. A few things that aren't in the movie are the scene in which the characters visit a dainty China Town where everybody there is made from china!  HOW COOL IS THAT!!! You have to read this book.
This book is for readers who like fantasy and adventure (or scarecrows!).  Don't miss out on the movie once you are done with reading book. Which do you like to do first, read the book or watch the movie?

Cool, I did'nt know the Wizerd Of Oz was a book.

This story is AMAZING!!!!!!!♥♥ It is also one of my favorite movies.☺☻

i have a friend who did a play last summer based on the wizard of oz. i love the movie and i have the revised version on dvd.
your friend,
cjw1018

next year for halloween we'll probably dress up as characters from the wizard of oz. i'll be glinda the good witch, my sister would be dorothy, my dog will be toto, my cousin (this is sad that i'm saying this but my mom agrees with me) will be the cowardly ion, and my other cousin it could work out with either the tin man or the scarecrow. i'm the smart one in my family B).

I absolutely love this book. Out of the 1,000 I've read this year this is my favorite. Did you know Dorthy actully has silver slippers not ruby??? Also did you know there is 9 books in that series I love all of them.

Wizard of Oz is the best book ever!! I love that book so much!!

i have this book. it's a lot better than the movie, at least that's what i think :)

i love this book i agree with you they should have put the dainty china town in

I read this book in class and I love it. I think It's better than the movie because it the movie it turns out that she hits her head, but in the bvook she flies back. That's soooooo cool!

ohhh yknow what? i think i have this book somewhere! it looks good...i think i'll read it. i already love the movie! also, yes to recordbreakingreader, i think i read somewhere that she has silver slippers. wait... YOU READ 1,000 BOOKS THIS YEAR?? i thought reading almost 90 per summer was an accomplishment! you must be some kind of speed reader. i have a friend who can read fast, but at that rate? probably not. that is 2.7 books per day. right?

I have read the book a long time ago, and remember enjoying it!

this is a really cute book, but the movie was so weird it gave me nightmares (shudder)!!!!

I love the book better than the movie.

Gotta read it!

the book is awesome but the movie is scary. have u seen the original 1?

I didn't know the Wizard of Oz was a book either ragin2007! that is so werid. I watched the movie but i didn't read the book.i'll have to read it.. you've read 1,000 books this year? I have only read like 200. you must read like 2 1/2 books a day! I only read like a chapter a day ( Maybe 2) Does that count books you have read in school?

i love wizard of oz so i probably will like this book

the wizard of oz iz like 1 og ma fav films/books
cnt w8 2 c it again x x x:)

Harry Poter is one of the best books eva x x xx

I haven't read the book yet, but I've seen the movie and was a munchkin in the play last year. The book seems kinda bad compared to the movie. Wow. I've never said that before.

P.S. nezza, it's Harry Potter and that was kinda random (even though that is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo true. I love Harry Potter)

I followed the yellow brick road to finish it! I read the REAL copy and I love how it sounds like it's real while movie says, "Did Dorothy go to the Wizard of Oz? Or was it a dream?" The book says it's real, so that's why I like it.

I've read a version of this book. I'm not sure that it's the same though. Actully, I might have two coppies. I read the chapter book with my mom when I was four years old. I don't rememeber it quite well, but I know that it was really good. I get a lot of the memories back from the movie. It's also one of my mos favorites.

I just want to correct some previous posts. There are 40 official Oz titles. 14 written by Frank Baum, 19 by Ruth Thompson and a few others.

this book is GREAT and so is the movie!!
one of my fav's!
:):):)

I liked the movie so I will probably get the book.(And the rest of the series if I like it.)I've been
eyeing it for a while but always gotten other books,I'll probably check it out at the library
(They have the whole series!)

I have the Great Illustrated Classics version of this book, and i agree , it is a very good book. i noticed that there is no field mice senario in the movie which is a shame.

I saw the movie to this book i guess not as hard as reading it. Hey citrus_girl For halloween i will probly dress up as bella from twilight or one of the other girls i guess. I mean my reading level is high is this a good choice for a reading level like mine.

PEACE

I found it in my libary friday of last week but did not sound interesting. so sorry all you lovers of this book did not look interesting.
