A Wrinkle in Time

BOOK NAME: A Wrinkle in Time
AUTHOR: Madeleine L'Engle

wrinkleintime.jpgMeg, an unattractive, unintelligent, and an unpopular girl lives with her super brainiac brother, Charles Wallace, her twin brothers and her mom. Meg's dad disappeared a few years ago so life has been hard for their family. Meg wants to find her dad but doesn't think that there will be much chance left.

One stormy night, a strange lady knocks on her door and she tells them her name is Mrs. Whatsit. She says that she can help them find their dad. Meg eventually meets these three witches who say that they can help Meg find her dad. They take Meg, her friend and her brother on an adventure. They get taken to a planet called Camazotz where Meg's dad is being held captive. One problem is that IT hypnotizes Charles Wallace while trying to save their dad so Meg has to save her brother AND her dad before IT has already taken over the world. They get help from octopus-like friends from another planet.  Meg finally believes in herself and stands up to IT. She defeats IT, save Charles Wallace and her dad and goes back home to her family.

This book is one of the most confusing books that I have read for the blog! This book was a one that I had to read for a Parent-Choice book project at my school. I struggled reading it at parts because it kept on carrying on about every little thing. This is definitely a book for good readers who are up for a hard challenge and who like Fantasies and Mysteries!

Have you ever read a book that you thought was confusing and you almost gave up on it?  Which book was it?

Actually, I have read a book that is so confusing and I just gave up on it. This one. I got pretty far (about 3/4ths of the way)and got so confused that I haven't got any farther. I still can't figure it out.

if you think that a wrinkle in time is confusing, wait 'till you read the sequel, 'a wind in the door'! I had to reread many of the parts to understand the book.

I liked this book, but it was really hard to read.
I had to ask my dad to help me understand a lot of things, like the tesseract.

I read this book awhile ago, and I loved it! It's a great book! I think every one should read this book.

I love the books with awards! I have never read this book, but now to think of it, I will! ;)

i have that book and two others i haven't read them yet but they look so good!

A lot of my friends have read this book, but they told me was confusing. I don't think I'm going to read it quite yet. But I'm pretty sure that I'm going to read it someday.

That book sounds AWESOME!!!!!

I have read The Wrinkle in Time two times and I LOVE it!! I would heartily recomend this book.

oh man i LOVE this book! i tried to read it in like third grade and only understood about half of it. then i had to read it again for school in sixth grade, and since we did vocab for it, i understood a lot more! i love it! calvin o'keefe is one of my fav book characters!!! oh, and yeah, i have almost or completely given up on books. but i love this series!

It really is a great book! I recommend it and so does my school librarian. Once you get past the language in the book, it would be a great middle school read.

I read this book, it was pretty good, but I thought the story line was kinda hard to understand, and it was hard to stay interested, but it was still a pretty good book

I wasn't very fond of the book only because I didn't really understand it (the wording, I mean!)

this book sounds like it is really hard to read!! congrats to who ever did!!

This was actually one of my favorite books. I understood it pretty well, once I realized that "wrinkling time" was just a way of shaping time and space so travel is easier. I agree with luv2read - everyone should read this book!

i love that book when i pick it up i cant put it down until I'm done with it.

I myself have read A Wrinkle in Time and I LOVE it. It mixes adventure with fantasy witch is a combination I really like. My favorite character is probably Charles Wallace (Meg's super smart brother) Anyway, if you haven't read A Wrinkle in Time you're missing out on a lot of fun and adventure!!!

I LOVED this book, but I have to admit it was really confusing. I had to read some parts twice to understand it, and sometimes I had to ask my parents to explain it. Still, it was a really good book!

I don't agree with the people who said that 'A Wrinkle in Time' was confusing. It's a great book!I'm on the fourth book in the series.(There are five.)The third one is pretty hard to understand at first though(A Swiftly Tilting Planet)I would recommend this book if you like fantasy. The age range for this book is probably 9-14.

I agree with spock9.

We read this book in school! It was so awesome! I agree with Parry Hotter but it was kinda confusing!

I heard that this was a good book. I haven't tryed to read it yet. I have to finish the book I started today. My BFF recommended it. So far I like it. It's called The House of a Million Pets by Ann Hodgman. Illustrations by Eugene Yelchin.

I'm yelchin for it. I'm on page 17. I loved it right after I read the first page.

That looks like a good book. 2 other good series are the mysterious benedict society (mystery) and a series of unfortunate events HAPPY READING!

it looks like alot of people have read this..... maby I will try it......HAS ANY ONE READ A BOOK BY SARA DESSEN!? I think that she is great!! I love her books!!

I've read that book 3 times over, and I still like it. :)

Never tried to read this book. however when i was in the elementry school which i am in middle school now but it justed sounded like trying to find a needle in a hay satck. which is very annoying for the record.
