Today, we went to Noordhoek, which is a small fishing town along the Atlantic coast, close to Muizenberg, where there are great white sharks, and Simon's Town, where there is a penguin colony.

Our other friend, Sarah, joined us for the day, as well as my sister, Jessica, and Lauren's sister, Manon. We had a nice lunch with our moms and then hung out in the playground, pretending we were all five year-olds on the seesaw, the swings and the monkey bars!!! And it was fun!!! We were running around so much that we didn't feel the cold!!! As we drove back home the sun came out. I think tomorrow will be a bright day full of sunshine. Maybe we will go down to the promenade by the sea front and go rollerblading.Tonight we are having Filipino food - chicken adobo and rice - which my mom is cooking right now. It's perfect comfort food for chilly nights!!!

hey Samantha,
south africa sounds very lovely. i still find it funny because everytime i read your blog i see al the names of the cities and those names are Dutch.
and let Dutch yust be my mothertongue.
have fun and greetings from the Netherlands.
that is so cool that you live in Africa! I wish I could travel more.
My Mom and Dad have been to South Africa before, but I haven't. I really want to go there.
Hi Samantha,
We are third graders from Paynesville, Mn. We were excited to read your blog. We have a few questions for you:
1). Since it is so cold, how come you don't have warm jackets on. In MN.. when it's 18 degrees, we have snow, and it's COLD!
2). Do you have grocery stores like we do? Where do you get your food? What do you like to eat?
3). How cold does it get during your winter? How hot does it get in your summer?
4). Are you good at rollerblading?
We are entering our summer. We had a winter day that was -52 below zero. Do you get that cold? We had a spring day that was 80 degrees.
cool u live in africa!!!!!.....well i live in india!!!
Living in Africa sounds fun! I wish l could go there too! :)
Sam, you're lucky to live in South Africa. I live in one of the most famous cities in the world, Italy Rome, yes, where the Colosseum is. The down side of living here is the enormous amount of traffic. And, since the Romans are so interesting, all kids study them before fifth grade, so when we get to study them, the teacher will be mad 'cause we know the answers!
cool. I live in Singapore. It's kinda hot and stuffy down there 'cos it's near(if not on)the equator.Do you learn chinese? If you don't you are sooooooooo lucky.I topped math, science n english but my chinese almost failed!A lot of people here speak singlish.Singlish is really weird(to me)
Like, in singlish, oh my gosh!=wa lau!(wa-lao)
if anybody wants more weird singlish word you can ask me.
