Touching a Heart!

In science my classmates I and are learning about the heart and circulatory system.
And a few days ago we went up to the science lab with our teachers to take an interesting science class with our principal--we were to dissect a sheep's heart. At first I was nervous but then I felt OK. We finally started our fascinating lesson!

We first began an interesting discussion with Dr. Samia (our school principal) and started to talk a lot about things in depth. It was great! When we finished with our discussion we started with looking at the real thing!! The heart! I was really happy to be doing this because I knew it might be a once in a lifetime chance.

Photo: Ayat and the heartI saw all the things we had studied about like the aorta. It felt very slimy and spongy. We got to touch two hearts. The first one was fat (probably because the sheep was fat) and the other less fat (probably because the sheep was thinner). Then it came to the lungs which were even more interesting! One was bigger than the other and they also felt slimy and spongy, but they looked more disgusting . It was so incredibly interesting.

I really enjoyed it and I am very happy that I got a chance to do something of this sort. I mostly enjoyed touching the heart--it was really cool to be touching a real heart.
